Systems Administrator/Engineer

Information Systems of Maryland (ISM), LLC is seeking a Systems Administrator and Systems Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our growing team.  ISM is an IT consulting firm that specializes in providing small to medium sized organizations with IT project solutions, security solutions and talent acquisition services on a Direct Hire and Temp-to-perm basis.  To meet the increasing needs of our organization we are seeking Systems Administrator and Systems Engineers that want to take part in our success and become key members of the company.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for supporting our firm internally but also will support the work we are doing with our customers. This position has a focus on supporting server and desktop applications, managing day to day operations of all enterprise applications, and system administration of a Microsoft Windows environment.

ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS:

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure and will interface at all levels of the firm including our customer(s).

SKILLS, ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of all enterprise applications.

Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Authentication, Active Directory, Group Policy and File Permission Management

Knowledge of MS Exchange and Office365

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server

Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Internet Information Server (IIS)

Installation and maintenance of servers, daily system administration, upgrades to existing applications, patch management, comprehensive documentation of systems and processes.

Perform disaster recovery planning and exercises, daily backup monitoring using a variety of tools, performance and security monitoring of servers.

Application administration in a LAN/WAN environment

Knowledge of virtual environments using VMWare

Knowledge of Anti-Virus Software

Knowledge of Firewalls

Knowledge of Linux

Administration of network printers

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Handling and resolving complex hardware and software issues

Knowledge of NAS, SAN and clustering technologies

Knowledge of supporting systems remotely

Provide recommendations to management for improving existing systems and identify potential application issues for escalation and resolution.

Work closely with other internal departments to ensure smooth delivery of technology services to the customer.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree; Candidate can supplement degree requirement with 4 years of functional and verifiable work experience.
